Service Dogs
Do you need a service dog or know of someone who is in need of a service dog? I am asked about this topic, on a regular basis. I do not know everything about this subject, but since we have had a certified service dog in the family for a few years now, I can share what I do know and what my experiences have been. We have experienced a lot of different things with our service dog, both positive and negative, and I am more than happy to share those experiences and that knowledge with all of you.
Why do they do that?
Have you ever wondered why your dogs do certain things or have certain habits that you never trained them to do or even exposed them to? I have experienced this with many, if not all of my fur babies, at one time or another, and have had a lot of fun learning what makes them all tick. My newest learning curve was with my puppy, who has shown an exceptional love of water lately. Since I am fully aware that it did not come from the Aussie side of the blood lines, I just knew that it had to have come from the Poodle side. Boy, did it!
What next?
Have you thought about what happens to your pets in the even of your death? If you have thought about it, have you put it in writing so that people know what steps need to be taken to ensure that they are cared for, properly? I don’t think that most people do think about this and so many of these well loved and cared for pets end up in shelters or on the street, which is a horribly sad and tragic thing. Here are a few steps that I am going to take to help ensure that my fur-babies have a home, should I no longer be here to provide that for them.
