Kamut (What’s that?) For Your Dog

Kamut is an ancient grain that is almost as full of history as it is of nutrients. This is a grain that I would highly encourage people to consume, as long as it is organic. Some of the many benefits include increased energy, natural detox, better digestion, better eyesight, and some even say fewer gray hairs. Alfalfa is a grass that has gotten a bad reputation because of the high levels of glyphosate that is used on it. Did you know that there is a way to research dog food recalls and the manufacturers that actually make the food? Did you know that over fifty percent of pets die from cancer, making cancer the number one leading cause of pet death? I pay close attention to both of these because I want to make sure that my pets get to live a long and healthy live, as free of illness as possible. Granted, sometimes we have no control over our dogs getting sick. Maybe whatever it is has nothing to do with environment or food, maybe it’s simply genetic, but if you could reduce that fifty percent to even just twenty percent, wouldn’t that be worth the effort?

Osteoarthritis in dogs

Osteoarthritis is a form of joint inflammation that is caused by the deterioration of joint cartilage. It is mostly found in older dogs. This type of joint issues generally cause a veterinarian to write a prescription for a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication. While I appreciate the fact that they are trying to recuse the inflammation, I would so much more appreciate trying to reverse the damage instead of just covering it up. There are many things that we can do, on a daily basis, that could really help here. I have been doing a few of these things, which I think is why my Aussie has lived these past fifteen years with little to no issues. Considering her age, I am going to start incorporating a few more of these proven homeopathic remedies, to see where that will get us.
